Business Professional Portrait Session

We just did a  Business Professional Session this week for Jeet Bahra and it turned out amazing!  Our Business Professional Portraits are a one of a kind, unique to what you do! Whether you are a stylist, pet sitter or lawyer, we are always creative in setting the stage for your business.

Here is a little about Jeet Bahra and her new business Perfect Paws Petsitting

After too much time working in the corporate world, I have decided to leave it, branching out and pursuing what I love to do- working with animals!  I recently opened and run a full service petsitting service called Perfect Paws Petsitting.

Perfect Paws Petsitting is a unique dog walking and petsitting/house-sitting business, which caters to the specific, needs of our furry, feathered, fluffy, and even scaly friends in Gainesville, Haymarket, Bristow and surrounding areas.

We understand that traffic is a common problem for families living in the DC area and most adults are out of the home between 6 am and 7 pm. We are here to help!  Perfect Paws Petsitting provides morning, mid-day, evening, and bedtime walks/visits when you can’t be there for them during the workweek. When on vacation or leave, there is no need to worry either- we can provide overnight house-sits in the comfort of your pets’ home while keeping the home burglary and disaster free.

We believe in personalized attention for your pets.  We don’t do group walks or skimp on time with our beloved friends during the holidays.  You will get a personal note at the conclusion of every walk and visit so that you know exactly what happened.  We have experience with all types of personalities and animals, and will take the time to meet with you personally to learn about your pets and home during our FREE Meet & Greet Consultations.  During our visits we would be happy to bring your mail and newspapers in, draw your blinds, adjust lights, or do other tasks to make your life slightly less stressful while you’re at work or on vacation.  We are here for you.
I have years of experience with all types of domestic pets ranging from dogs to parrots and am always there to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.  Because I live in the area, emergencies are never an issue. Please contact us today to find out about personalized care and rates. We would love to make lifelong friendships with your loved ones.  So remember - the bark stops here!

We are fully bonded and insured, and run stringent background checks on all employees, before hiring them.  We do this, so that you can be completely comfortable while we are in your home.

It’s never too early to book for the holidays! Sign up quickly as slots will fill up fast. Look for us on Living Social and Groupon shortly! Any services booked before coupons come out will be honored at the discounted rate.

Please visit our website for more information and rates:

Bridal Originals - Monte Rosa

What an amazing bridal shoot... and so much fun!  The shoot took place mid-spring, here at our studio, which is located on the historic 6 acre property, known as Monte Rosa, Neptune Lodge. We love using parts of the abandoned loft, along with so many other spots on this vast historic Old Town location.

A lot of planning and prep went into making this shoot happen.  One of the many things that we were super excited about, was having celebrity Make-Up & Hair Artist Catie Starr here to make our already beautiful model, look amazing & most certainly HD compatible!  Our model  Shirin, was more than alluring and dazzled the camera, throughout the shoot!

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, we think these are worth at least a million!

"Meet our client"! I should say she is more than a client, she and her family are more like friends.

Today we are going to read a post on what I call, "Meet our client"! I should say she is more than a client, she and her family are more like friends. When I asked Jeet if she would like to write a blog post for the new blog, she was more than happy to. After meeting Jeet and her husband Jesse more than a year ago, for a family portrait session with her parents and siblings equaling to 7 people, there have been funny dinners, were we can't stop laughing, to a limited edition bunny session for Gisele where outside the studio a storm was more than roaring the inside of the studio.

With out further ado! Jeet Bahra

Family
When it comes to family… I think of at least 200 people. I have grown up in a family where my mother and father collectively have 7 siblings - some of whom also had 4 or 5 children, others “only” 2.  Most of those children have had 2-4 children as well.  My parents had 3.  To go even further, some of those children have had children - can you keep up any more? I am one of those children who have had children, except in my case; I have had one special little girl named Gisele.

Gisele is the spoiled only grandchild and admired by a several hundred on Facebook. I usually get messages and wall posts from old college friends telling me that they've been stalking me from afar and have set notifications for when I upload new photos.  This does not freak me out, in fact (like many proud parents) I find it extremely flattering.  To sum it up, Gisele is pretty awesome!  Those who have been lucky enough to meet her have experienced the effects of her infectious dimpled smile.  Gisele doesn't run - she hops!  And she most certainly does not talk… She Sing-Songs!  Rarely, if ever, does she stop smiling!  And with that infectious smiling comes the laughter.  Laughter, which she manages to do ever so loudly… needless to say, I think she’s pretty neat!

She calls almost everyone in my family “Jeet” because my parents have a cute little pattern going. My mother’s name is Harjit; Dad- Ranjit; Sister- Sujit; Brother- Ajit.  She’s had the “mama”, “papa” thing down for quite awhile.  Because she got bored with that, she wanted to go further by learning other names…  I figure she’s probably confused, like most other people, when I tell them that Jeet is my full name, and I am part of a whole family of “Jeets”.

Becoming and being a mother has been an amazing journey, especially with all its ups and downs! Gisele was born in May of 2010, and at that very moment I thought... “Oh. My. God. What am I going to do now… and how do I do this?!”  While growing up, I was one of the kids being taken care of.  It seemed, things always fell into place.  I suppose this was because there were so many people around to raise me, constantly.  “How is this possible?” you may ask. They ALL live in Montgomery County, MD within minutes of each other and my parents lived (and still live) smack in the middle! While most of my family is here in the United States, I do have one aunt and one uncle, still living in India. My aunt hasn’t met Gisele yet- but I am sure it will happen soon enough!  In 2009 my husband’s job has moved us to Virginia, and since then, I cannot think of living anywhere else. I love it here!

Even though I’m close geographically, I’m not as close as I used to be, and that left a family void.  Since I’m far away from the place I grew up, I felt the need to create my own sense of family.  Life is certainly a bit quieter than it was when I was growing up, but it is just as wonderful, in its own way.  I enjoy every moment with Gisele, and am amazed by every new word she spits at me, and every new song she sings to me. Most recently, she’s wowed me, by remembering things that happened days ago. She also started singing "Twinkle Twinkle" and knows all the words to it! Following in her maternal grandmother (otherwise known as “mamas”)’s footsteps, she has taken to paintbrushes and crafts. Who knows what the future has in store for her!

While we were in Warrenton, VA we came across Robert Everton Photography.  We are huge fans of Robert & Holly’s work, and have thoroughly enjoyed working with them on numerous occasions!

Not only have they photographed Miss Gigi several times, they’ve actually managed to photograph all the “Jeets” (my family of 7 people).  Holly and Robert are such a great team; they are great with children, animals, and large groups. They are very funny and extremely easy to work with- not stuffy at all!  Their adorable studio sits on lots of land which comes in handy for great pictures. You wouldn’t know the difference if you were running through the fields of the Shenandoah Valley. Their prices are reasonable, they offer great products, and are always willing to personalize your package of photos. They've been really good to my family. We are sure we will be coming back to them as long as Gisele lets us; she’s pretty fond of attention and loves Robert so I am sure that will be often.

Gisele recently did one of the Limited Edition Bunny Sessions and had a ball. It shows in every single photo taken that day. I highly recommend Holly and Robert at Robert Everton Photography for all your photography needs.

Jude Emmit

Congrat’s Katie & Craig – Jude is adorable!

Here at REP, fall has certainly been keeping us busy!  With so many Fall sessions, there is plenty for us to blog about.  Needless to say it was kind of hard to actually choose which session to start with, but somehow we managed!

Our session, with 4 day old Jude Emmit, was so much fun and he was an absolute joy to work with.  This sweet little darling, was such a trooper; he slept (almost) the entire session, only requesting a short lunch break.  So exciting to be a part of this little guys life, and are looking forward to watching him as he grows up!!!

Key Ingredients for a perfect Newborn Session.

Knowing things about mom & dad before the session, is a must!  Craig (Dad) is an Army Captain, so of course we wanted to make certain, he had some of his Army Components, on hand, for prop use. REP brought along, an one of our old ammo crates props - a perfect addition to this session, (Crates were recently purchased from our good friend Ashley, at The Pickin Princess*).

At REP, we love our custom props!  So, of course we had a few on hand for Jude's session.

A recent addition to our growing prop ensemble was this blue fringe blanket, which I (Holly) made & completed the day before this shoot...  Everyone was so pleased with how soft and fun this blanket was... Great Job Me!!!

Another one of our Custom Props, was our one-of-a-kind carved out log, made especially for our newborn sessions!  We usually put some cozy blankets in, and of course a sweet little baby.  This recent addition to our growing selection of props, was made by the photographer himself (aka Robert)!

Mom (Katie), had a special request for us to use some 'real' pumpkins.  We were delighted to make this happen, especially since it's Fall, and of course Pumpkins are in!

The Beautiful new Starn Family!
